AGB Creative was commissioned by Western Australia Museum to create a fresh perspective on an untold story and attract new audiences into the WA Maritime Museum in Fremantle.

Unlike most digital exhibitions in the market today, which often rely on displaying passive art in an enhanced visual format, “Empress Joséphine’s Garden” is a completely narrative-driven journey that immerses visitors into the world of Empress Joséphine and her fascination with plants and animals from around the world.

Her interest in exotic plants and commitment to her garden at Malmaison had a profound influence on European botanical science. Joséphine’s Garden was not just a personal hobby; it was a centre for botanical study and the acclimatisation of plants from around the globe.

Empress Joséphine Bonaparte can certainly be regarded as an “original influencer” of her time, leveraging her position, tastes, and passions to shape cultural and social norms in ways that still resonate today.

This exhibition goes beyond simply showcasing art by utilising a seamless 360º experience that transports visitors into a richly curated environment.
