Sydney’s first light festival and AGB Creative’s first cultural experience, Vivid Sydney, brought out Sydneysiders in the darkest, coldest months. Australia’s first light festival , Vivid Sydney is delivered. AGB Events is established to curate and deliver the event and continues to do so for 10 years until it is firmly established as the biggest event in the country’s history.

AGB creates and launches Lights of Christmas, Sydney's premier Christmas celebration sharing stories of peace, joy and goodwill. Told through original digital content projected onto the external façade of St Mary's Cathedral, this tradition is one that continues today and is a vital part of the Sydneysider festive season’s cultural experience.

High impact public celebration event ilight Marina Bay Singapore created. Sets the foundation for the new Marina Bay Sands precinct growth as a culturally vibrant and sustainable urban location, still home to Asia’s leading annual and sustainable light art festival.

2012
Australia’s biggest ever cultural event in India – Oz Fest - is held. A celebration of Indian and Australian Aboriginal culture, the goal of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade was to enhance the country’s economic and cultural diplomatic ties. The success was widely acknowledged and reported as a symbolic moment in diplomatic relations.

2016
Parrtjima – The first Aboriginal Light Art Festival launches in Australia’s Northern Territory. This unique, free public annual event by AGB Events features spectacular displays of Indigenous artwork, and illumination of 2km of the MacDonnell Ranges. In 2023 the event had its highest attendance on record and delivered over $11m in economic benefit to the region.

AGB Creative brings Treasures Illuminated to the Australian Museum’s Westpac Long Gallery. The transformation involved using immersive digital and sound experiences to tell the untold stories behind the traditional artefacts on display. So successful, the Westpac Long Gallery was awarded The National Trust Heritage Award – Built Heritage and this experience is now permanent.

Washington DC’s Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History hosts its first ever Australian digital exhibition – AGB’s very own original digital exhibition Beauty Rich and Rare.

First grand scale projection at Dubai Expo’s Al Wasl Plaza. The 130m diameter semi transparent, 65 metre high dome allows 360 degree projection visible inside and outside the dome.

AGB Events creates and produces largest Drone Sky Theatre in the Southern Hemisphere for Destination NSW’s ELEVATE Sydney. The stunning original drone light performance brought out tens of thousands of Sydneysiders each night for 5 nights.

NSW Art Gallery expanded the impact of its art beyond it’s four walls – and into the sky with ArtUp Sky Show. A stand out program of the Gallery’s new Sydney Modern opening, the artistic original story was a collaboration with renowned First Nations artist Reko Rennie, set to an instrumental soundtrack composed by Deborah Cheetham AO.

Dhai Dubai launches. created and produced by AGB, it is the first Emirati led light Art festival in the region, showcasing the works of local Emirati Artists. The festival shaped Dubai’s unique cultural identity and contributed to the building of Expo City’s cultural wealth and reputation on the international stage. A crucial objective of its creative placemaking strategy.
