Creatures of Australia was an innovative and immersive cinematic experience hosted at Fever Pavilion in Sydney Olympic Park. Divided into six unique digital ‘environments,’ the event celebrated Australia’s native wildlife and honoured the individuals dedicated to their conservation. This remarkable experience was created in partnership with the Australian Museum and in collaboration with Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, Oakvale Wildlife Park and SEALIFE Sydney Aquarium to support their ongoing conservation efforts.
The Creatures Gallery featured ten massive screens displaying stunning close-up and slow-motion footage of koalas, jellyfish, sulphur-crested cockatoos, and saltwater crocodiles, captured by award-winning cinematographer Dale Bremner. Meet the Carers, a documentary theatre, shared compelling stories from handlers and researchers who tirelessly protect these animals. The Wild Walk invited audiences to interact with floor projections, helping baby turtles hatch or chasing kangaroos and echidnas across the outback’s red desert sands.
Spotlight on Conservation showcased innovative, custom-built technology that enabled audiences to shine interactive torches on wall projections, revealing detailed information about animals in three different environments. Hear the Wild offered a serene space filled with bean bags, where visitors could immerse themselves in audio from various national parks, complemented by reactive visuals. Connect and Protect featured activity sheets designed by AGB Creative to educate and entertain, along with an augmented reality photo booth where attendees could pose with digital renditions of koalas, tarantulas, and kookaburras, leaving with a unique digital memento.
