Northern Territory Major Events Corporation (NTMEC) wanted an authentic destination event to help build the Alice Springs tourism economy.
“Parrtjima – A Festival in Light”, the first Indigenous light festival of its kind, was created and produced by AGB Creative. The creative content and stories come from the Alice Springs artistic and cultural communities with spectacular displays of Indigenous artwork and the stunning illumination of 2km of the MacDonnell Ranges.
Now an important, annual tourism event, Parrtjima 2023 had record attendance, with 70% of interstate visitors travelling to Alice Springs specifically for the event.
